We take the health, safety and welfare of all our staff, clients, consultants, visitors, and the general public very seriously and are proactively committed to zero harm on all our worksites, projects and offices.  To achieve this, we cultivate safe working behaviours through proactive leadership and we promote the diligent use of proven systems and processes.

Our Occupational Health and Safety Management System is certified to the standard AS/NZS 4801:2001 and is certified by LRQA, an internationally accredited certification body.

Our people have a dedicated focus on identifying all health and safety risks and issues and demonstrate behaviours conducive to a safe working environment.  We run ongoing training and awareness sessions throughout the company and conduct regular risk assessments and safe work planning on all our work sites.

We develop a Work Health and Safety Plan for all our onsite projects in line with relevant legislation and any client requirements.  These plans define the targeted standards and how they will be implemented, monitored and controlled throughout the duration of the project.

We are particularly proud of our health and safety record, which is a direct result of our commitment to the training of our people and the support of the best systems and procedures.

Ahrens Safe

In 2011, we launched a workplace safety campaign called Ahrens Safe. The Ahrens Safe logo appears throughout our business – on our uniforms, vehicles and machinery, in workshops and on construction sites – to remind all employees that every individual is important.

Our aim is to ensure every employee returns home safely to their family at the end of each work day.
