Ahrens was engaged by JT Johnson & Sons to design and construct an upgraded pellet mill. The scope of works included a 25m x 9m x 19m multi-storey mill, grain storage access and support infrastructure, a road intake receival building, as well as civil, concrete and electrical work.
This project was constructed while the current mill facility was in operation. Bespoke design work was necessary to meet the client’s specific requirements.
A challenge was issues with power supply levels in the local area, however this was overcome through liaising with power networks to increase the electricity supply for on-time project delivery.
